The 32-flight Intro course involves 32 flights working towards the goal of solo flight. The course includes membership to Darling Downs Soaring Club, accommodation for the course, a Glider Pilot Certificate Logbook, DDSC bucket hat, 32 flights, checklists, dittolog key. Note that membership of Gliding Australia (which is compulsory) is not included but needs to be obtained.
The courses are aimed at anyone wanting to take up gliding, whether they have prior experience or not. 32 flights are generally completed on the course, weather dependent. Any flights not able to be conducted on the course may be used later, during club flying.
The 50-flight package involves 50 flights working towards the goal of solo flight and further post solo training towards the Glider Pilot Certificate. The extra 18 flights may be taken at any time following the solo course, flying on weekends with the club operation.
There are four spaces available for each of the course weeks with a ratio of one instructor to two students. There will often be a variety of instructors conducting the courses which may change ever few days.
Training materials used are the standard Gliding Australia Glider Pilot Certificate Syllabus.
