DDSC OpenVarios have been setup with a front-of-panel mounted USB socket. This allows each pilot to use their own USB stick to load tasks and download flight logs. Default (write-protected) profiles have been provided for each glider, however pilots may want to add their own profiles with their preferences, look and feel (recommended for advanced users only).
The USB stick (with a specific folder format) is required to:
· Upload files to the OpenVario (ie task and waypoints- easiest way to set a task)
· Download fight logs from:
o OpenVario o Any of the connected devices (eg flarm)
· Add profiles (advanced users only) in addition to the default DDSC profiles provided.
An OpenVario USB stick can be purchased from the DDSC bar or make your own by downloading and copying the exact folder structure to a blank usb stick
